Team Premier wins Juan Carlos Trophy in Cascais

The new Dragons, built in Dubai by Premier Composite Technologies (PCT), are sailing from one success to the next.

After Hendrik Witzmann (UAE20) achieved a 2nd place on Lake Garda last October, Markus Wieser (UAE7) won the Italian Open Championship in San Remo 2 weeks ago. Witzmann completed the good results in San Remo with a 3rd place.

Yesterday another major milestone was reached! With his crew Markus Koy and Henrique Anjos, Hendrik Witzmann won the 20th H.M. King Juan Carlos Trophy in Cascais. Next to the 3 major Dragon regattas, the Gold Cup, the World Championship and the European Championship, the regatta in Cascais is one of the major events of the year.

Markus Wieser: “Already during the winter trainings in Dubai, we realized that our new boats were very fast. We were really happy following our good results in San Remo. Hendrik and his team now winning a Grade 1 event, so early on in the season, excels all our expectations. We never expected to be so successful early on in the season”.

2nd place in Cascais was achieved by the Danish European Champion Lars Hendricksen and 3rd place by the 3 times World champion Lawrie Smith from England.
